UAF Leave Balances may not be current (or correct).

• Due to processing delays, these leave balances may not be current.

Due to the inability of UAF HR and Banner to honor the recently negotiated contract clause that stated "we will include your previous period of employment at the University of Alaska in your time of service for calculating leave accrual" I created a spreadsheet that does include a running total. I have checked it several times and do not have to issue a disclaimer that leave balances are not current. This spreadsheet shows a 12.97 hour error in the currently displayed leave balance. It also shows that for the three pay periods since the negotiated clause UAOnline / Banner has shown the wrong leave accrual. It also shows a 55.08 hours used entry for the period ending 3/9/2013 when I actually used 56 hours of leave. The .96 hours difference is the difference between the 5.54 hour accrual rate and the 6.46 hour accrual rate.

I have decided I have to maintain this spreadsheet until I think UAF HR and Banner have it right and maybe for as long as I work for the University of Alaska. It wasn't that difficult to create and won't be difficult to maintain. I may even add columns for sick leave although current UAF sick leave policy makes that not very important for employees who do not take as much sick time as "allowed".

I have a "Banner Balance" for 3/11/2013 and 3/19/2013. The first was put in the spreadsheet for the previous three pay periods and the second in the most current.

On 3/20/2013 UAOnline shows a new 115.16 "Banner Balance". There is no detail observable on UAOnline showing how or why the 114.24 "Banner Balance" observed on 3/19/2013 changed to a 115.16 "Banner Balance" observed the next day. I was told this morning that the HR Payroll supervisor "fixed" it. There is not change in the detail history. This is a .92 difference from the previous day.

On Payday, 3/22/2013, UAOnline shows no change in Leave Balances.
